Air Fryer Ham Cheese Pockets (Print Version)

Golden pockets with melty cheddar jack cheese and chopped ham, cooked crisp and fast in an air fryer.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 4 medium flour tortillas (8-inch diameter)
02 - 120 grams deli ham, chopped
03 - 60 grams shredded cheddar jack cheese
04 - 15 grams unsalted butter, softened

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Stack the tortillas on a microwave-safe plate, cover with a damp paper towel, and microwave for 20 seconds to soften and increase pliability.
02 - Chop deli ham into small pieces for even distribution in each pocket.
03 - Place approximately 1/4 cup shredded cheese in the center of each tortilla, add a handful of chopped ham over the cheese, then sprinkle a little more cheese on top for a gooey center.
04 - Fold the tortilla edges inward and then fold in half, pressing firmly to seal and prevent filling leakage.
05 - Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes while preparing the pockets.
06 - Brush each pocket with softened butter and sprinkle additional shredded cheese on top, pressing gently to adhere.
07 - Place pockets seam-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 5 minutes, checking halfway to ensure even browning.
08 - Remove carefully with tongs and let rest for 1-2 minutes before serving to allow cheese to set.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Warming tortillas prior to folding prevents cracking and tearing.
02 - Press cheese topping into butter to ensure it adheres and crisps nicely.
03 - Allow pockets to rest briefly after cooking for optimal gooey texture.
04 - Pockets can be assembled and frozen before cooking, stored up to three months.
