01 - 10 ounces andouille or smoked sausage, sliced

02 - 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed

04 - 1 medium yellow onion, diced
05 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
06 - 1 medium green bell pepper, diced

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
02 - In the same skillet, add diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 3 to 4 minutes.
03 - Add cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, and chili powder; stir for 30 seconds. Add rice and toast for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly golden and aromatic.
04 - Return sausage to the skillet and add black beans and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 18 to 20 minutes.
05 - Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff rice with a fork, then garnish with chopped cilantro and freshly squeezed lime juice before serving.
