Steak and shrimp coated in blackened spice with creamy parmesan Alfredo sauce over penne pasta, garnished with fresh parsley.

# What You'll Need:

→ Pasta

01 - 10 ounces penne pasta

→ Seafood

02 - 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

→ Meat

03 - 8 ounces top sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes

→ Seasonings

04 - 2 tablespoons blackened seasoning
05 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
06 - ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Oils and Fats

07 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
08 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

→ Vegetables and Aromatics

09 - 1 small yellow onion, minced (about ½ cup)
10 - 3 cloves garlic, minced

→ Dairy

11 - 1 cup heavy whipping cream
12 - ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

→ Garnish

13 - 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a boil. Add the penne and cook for 10 to 11 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining. Set pasta aside.
02 - Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Coat evenly with blackened seasoning. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and crusted. Remove shrimp and keep warm tented with foil.
03 - Increase skillet heat to high without cleaning. Add butter and let it melt and foam. Place steak cubes evenly in the skillet and sear undisturbed for 1 to 2 minutes until a dark crust forms. Flip and cook for 1 more minute. Remove and keep warm with shrimp.
04 - Reduce heat to medium. If needed, add more butter or oil. Sauté minced onion for 3 to 5 minutes until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and start with ¼ cup reserved pasta water. Stir in Parmesan cheese, blackened seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until sauce thickens. Adjust consistency with remaining pasta water as needed.
05 - Add drained pasta to the sauce and toss to coat thoroughly. Adjust seasoning and sauce consistency if necessary. Layer shrimp and steak on top, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately while hot.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For best results, dry shrimp and steak thoroughly before seasoning to ensure proper searing.
02 - Store leftovers of sauce, pasta, and proteins separately. Reheat gently with additional cream or reserved pasta water to restore texture.
