Caramel Apple Pretzel Bites (Print Version)

Crunchy pretzels with gooey caramel and crisp apple chunks create a perfect sweet and salty treat.

# What You'll Need:

→ Pretzels

01 - 40 square pretzel snaps (or any flat pretzels)

→ Caramel

02 - 40 individually wrapped soft caramel squares

→ Fruit

03 - 1 to 2 medium crisp apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced into small cubes

→ Optional Ingredients

04 - 1 tbsp lemon juice or water (to prevent apple browning)
05 - 30 g semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
06 - 30 g chopped peanuts or other nuts (optional)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set oven temperature to 250°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Dice apples into small bite-sized pieces. Optionally, soak in lemon water then dry thoroughly to prevent browning.
03 - Place pretzel snaps in a single layer on the baking sheet. Unwrap and place one caramel square on top of each pretzel.
04 - Bake in preheated oven for 3 to 5 minutes until caramel softens but does not melt completely.
05 - Remove from oven and immediately press one dried apple cube onto each softened caramel to adhere.
06 - If desired, melt chocolate chips with a small amount of coconut oil or milk, then drizzle over bites. Sprinkle with chopped nuts before chocolate sets.
07 - Allow bites to cool on the baking sheet until caramel firms. Serve at room temperature or chilled for a firmer texture.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Ensure apple pieces are dry to avoid soggy caramel. Monitor baking closely to prevent caramel from over-softening.
