Deep Fried S'Mores Dessert (Print Version)

Golden s'mores with crispy batter, gooey chocolate, and marshmallow inside. A show-stopping dessert for any occasion.

# What You'll Need:

→ For the S'mores

01 - 8 whole graham cracker sheets, broken into 16 halves
02 - 8 large marshmallows
03 - 4 Hershey's milk chocolate bars, broken into 8 half-bar pieces

→ For the Batter

04 - 1 cup pancake mix
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 3/4 cup whole milk
07 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

→ For Frying

08 - 4 cups vegetable oil, for deep frying

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Break the graham crackers into halves, creating 16 pieces. On 8 halves, place one large marshmallow and half a chocolate bar. Top with the remaining graham cracker halves and press gently to form sandwiches.
02 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pancake mix, egg, whole milk, and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil until smooth and just combined. Let the batter rest for five minutes to thicken for optimal coating.
03 - Pour 4 cups of vegetable oil into a deep, heavy-bottomed pot. Heat to 375°F (190°C), maintaining temperature with a kitchen thermometer.
04 - Using tongs, dip each assembled s'more sandwich into the batter, ensuring a complete, even coating. Allow excess batter to drip off before frying.
05 - Carefully lower each coated s'more into the hot oil with tongs. Hold gently for a few seconds before releasing to keep the assembly intact. Fry in small batches for 3 to 4 minutes until batter is crisp and golden.
06 - Remove fried s'mores with a slotted spoon and transfer to a paper towel–lined tray to drain excess oil. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving warm.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For best results, monitor oil temperature closely and fry s'mores in small batches to maintain an even, crisp texture.
02 - Letting the batter rest helps prevent it from slipping off the s'mores during frying.
03 - Serve with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of melted chocolate for an indulgent finish.
