Low Carb Pizza Bowl (Print Version)

A crustless pizza bowl with ground meat, sautéed vegetables, marinara, and melted cheese for a low-carb meal.

# What You'll Need:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1/2 cup chopped onions
02 - 1/2 cup diced green bell peppers
03 - 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
04 - 2 cloves minced garlic

→ Proteins

05 - 1/2 pound ground beef or turkey

→ Seasonings and Sauces

06 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
07 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
08 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
09 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
10 - 1 cup low-carb marinara sauce
11 - 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

→ Cheese

12 - 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
13 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

→ Garnish

14 - Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking dishes on a tray for easy handling.
02 - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute, avoiding burning.
03 - Push vegetables to the side of the skillet and add ground meat. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Break meat apart and cook until fully browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
04 - Stir marinara sauce into the meat and vegetable mixture. Simmer gently for 3-5 minutes to combine flavors and slightly reduce the sauce.
05 - Spoon the mixture evenly into ramekins, leaving space at the top. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over each. Add crushed red pepper flakes if desired for heat.
06 - Place ramekins on a baking tray and bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly.
07 - Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Sprinkle fresh basil or parsley on top before serving. Serve warm and handle carefully as the bowls will be hot.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Sauté garlic last to avoid bitterness. Use freshly grated cheese for smoother melting. Opt for a thick marinara sauce to prevent watery consistency.
02 - Let bowls cool completely before storing. Refrigerate in airtight containers for up to three days. Reheat gently in oven or microwave.
