# What You'll Need:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)
03 - 1 tablespoon sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

05 - 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
06 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
07 - 1 large egg

→ Garlic Herb Butter Filling

08 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
09 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
10 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
11 - 1 teaspoon dried basil
12 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Cheeses

13 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
14 - 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar or grated Parmesan cheese

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg; stir until a sticky dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
02 - Mix softened butter, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, and salt in a small bowl until smooth and fragrant.
03 - Roll the risen dough into a large rectangle approximately the size of a standard baking sheet. Spread the garlic herb butter evenly over the surface, then sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar (or Parmesan) cheese generously on top.
04 - Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log. Slice the log lengthwise into two long strips. Twist the two pieces together carefully to expose the layers of cheese and herbs. Place the twisted dough into a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
05 - Cover the shaped loaf and let rest for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the loaf for 30 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
06 - Allow the bread to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm to enjoy the gooey cheese and fragrant garlic herb layers.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For best texture, allow the dough to rise fully and twist the dough tightly to maintain an even swirl.
02 - Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or freeze wrapped tightly for up to two months.
03 - Use room temperature butter for easy spreading and softer filling.
