Deep Fried S'mores Delight (Print Version)

Golden fried treats with gooey marshmallows and rich chocolate nestled between crisp graham crackers.

# What You'll Need:

→ Batter

01 - 1 cup Bisquick pancake mix
02 - 240 ml (1 cup) whole or 2% milk
03 - 15 ml (1 tablespoon) vegetable oil
04 - 1 large egg

→ S'mores

05 - 8 graham cracker sheets
06 - 8 large marshmallows (s'more size preferred)
07 - 4 Hershey’s chocolate bars, broken into squares

→ Frying

08 - Vegetable oil, for deep frying (5 to 6 inches depth)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Fill a heavy-bottomed pot with 5 to 6 inches of vegetable oil and clip on a candy or oil thermometer. Heat oil slowly over medium heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix, milk, vegetable oil, and egg until mostly smooth. Adjust consistency if necessary by adding a splash more milk or a sprinkle more mix. Let batter rest for 5 minutes to hydrate.
03 - Break each graham cracker sheet in half to form squares. Layer one marshmallow and a square of chocolate on one graham cracker square, then top with the second square. Press gently to secure. Repeat to make eight s'mores.
04 - Using tongs or clean hands, fully dip each s'more into the batter, ensuring all sides are covered. Shake off excess batter gently.
05 - Carefully lower each coated s'more into the hot oil with tongs, holding it for a few seconds to set the batter before releasing. Fry 2 to 3 at a time, turning with a slotted spoon for even browning, about 2 to 3 minutes until deep golden brown.
06 - Transfer fried s'mores to a wire rack set over a paper towel-lined tray. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes until outside is set and inside remains gooey.
07 - Serve warm to enjoy melted chocolate and soft marshmallow. Optionally drizzle with extra melted chocolate.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Best served fresh and warm for optimal gooey texture; leftovers keep up to one day at room temperature and can be reheated in a toaster oven for crispness.
02 - Allow oil to return to temperature between batches for a crisp coating.
